Through the growing game of soccer, the Winston Salem Pickup Association aims to cultivate a diverse and welcoming community of players, while promoting healthy lifestyles, volunteerism, and fellowship.
Established in 2020, the Winston Salem Pickup Association began as a Facebook Group among friends with the purpose of recruiting recreational players, organizing pick up games and coordinating field usage. In 2 years, the Facebook group grew to over hundreds of players and our founding organizers discovered a significant need in Winston Salem for a community-organized soccer program that facilitated a safe and welcoming open play experience, served as a liaison between players and respective field management, and worked to address the socioeconomic barriers that existed to participate in the sport. In 2023, WSPA partnered with Love Out Loud as one of their community-led initiatives to be better equipped to tackle creating equitable opportunities and pathways to playing soccer for adults and youth in Forsyth County
To facilitate year-round soccer that is inclusive of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.
Winston Salem Pickup Association (WSPA) works in partnership with Love Out Loud through Love Out Loud's Fiscal Sponsorship Program. When you donate here, your Receipt and Tax-Deductible statement will come from Love Out Loud.
